Eusoh, an alternative to pet insurance, recently partnered with FirstVet, a televet service, in an effort to reduce the incidence of unnecessary veterinary visits thereby lowering pet healthcare costs that is shared every month by the membership community.
Allen describes exactly what led Eusoh to pursue this partnership, how it works, and feedback from its members.
I also asked him about Eusoh's employee benefit plans that employers can offer their employees.
We revisited Eusoh's partnerships with shelters and rescue organizations and why Eusoh's community sharing model is especially attractive to them.

I discovered Eusoh on your site and used them for both of my dogs. They’ve been amazing. Sadly, they are shutting down pet coverage at the end of October. This is a bummer for me, but I feel especially bad for all of the pet parents whose animals now have pre-existing conditions that will exclude them from other insurance.

Sharon, I admire Allen for his transparency and willingness to attempt an alternative model to pet insurance. Unfortunately, sometimes government regulations get in the way of good things that can really benefit consumers.
Every time a pet owner chooses a company to insure their pet, there's always a possibility that the company may not always be around. I've seen several companies cease business in the past 10-15 years. But, that's an unknown that shouldn't necessarily deter anyone from insuring their pet.
